CCRWC Capital Projects Status

SC Infrastructure Improvement Project (SCIIP) - Chesterfield County Regional Capacity Increase Project

This project includes a new larger line (12”) on Hwy 1 from the metered connection with Alligator just east of Patrick to the Intersection of US 1 and Hwy 52 to replace the smaller mixed diameter lines currently in place; a new 6” line Teals Mill Road from Juniper Junction to the railroad overhead bridge; and replaces the 8” asbestos concrete line on Hwy 9 from the Hwy 9 elevated tank to just west of Airport Road in Pageland with a 12” ductile iron line.  Since CCRWC is ineligible to apply directly for SCIIP funds, Chesterfield County applied on behalf of the water company.

This project was put out for bid in late May, 2024, with bids due in late June, 2024. Construction is anticipated to take up to one year to complete.

Rural Infrastructure Authority Grant – Tory Road Elevated Tank #2 Project

This project constructed a new 500,000-gallon elevated tank on Tory Road in Pageland near the existing High Point elevated tank. This project was a collaborative effort between the Town of Pageland, RIA, and CCRWC – all sharing the costs. Since CCRWC is not eligible to be the recipient of Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) grants/loans, the Town of Pageland applied for this grant on behalf of CCRWC.

Caldwell Tank was awarded the tank work and RWF Construction was awarded the line and building/SCADA work.  The tank was completed in December, 2023 and was granted permission to enter service by SC DHEC in early June, 2024.

Community Development Block Grant - Hillian-Edwards Road Project

CCRWC has submitted documentation through Chesterfield County and the Pee Dee Council of Government (COG) for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to fund a line extension on Hillian-Edwards Road between Chesterfield and Cheraw.  The status of the grant request is unknown at this time as we wait for the disposition from CDBG.

Rural Infrastructure Authority Grant - Pageland-Lynches River Industrial Park Project

CCRWC has applied for and received a Rural Infrastructure Authority (RIA) grant through Chesterfield County to construct additional water lines between Hwy 9 and Hwy 601 and between Laney Road and the Lynches River Industrial Park to be able to serve the new industrial park and meet their capacity requirements.  This grant was approved in late May, 2024.  Construction will likely begin in late 2024 or early 2025.
